Mirandas art is deeply rooted in his culture. This is quite apparent in his work by his use of color. The art is unique because he uses encaustic. Encaustic is a lost art or, rarely seen in contemporary art. The artist uses encaustic in painting and, on his sculptures. This is very eye catching and someone could get lost in viewing the mind blowing kaleidoscope of colors. His sculptures are made from sculpted wood, metals, and found objects. Miranda gathers all his materials and then sketches out the piece he wants to create. Then the artist creates, refines, and molds these materials beautifully into multifid works of art. These works appear to be autonomous human forms with a hint of genders. These art forms are hand painted and coated with encaustic wax. Miranda melts the wax and mixes it with pigments himself. This Hispanic artist uses colors to symbolize his Hispanic American heritage and this with his craftmanship bring his pieces to life.
